Creating the game world
As we are approaching the first milestone of the project, Ludivine continues to create new artwork for insects and plants, Tom and Frederik are progressing on the OpenGL/Python framework that will host the game world, and I am getting down to the business of creating the backdrop for the whole story to take place in.
In what kind of a world would our strange and wonderful insects run around?
We aim at a surreal setting, one that reminds us of our own, but with strange and wonderful differences. A world that hints at human presence but is also devoid of it. A civilised world reclaimed by nature, leading to a subtle interaction between the two. Below are first drafts.
The main recurring themes will be surrealism, ecclecticism, and machinery vs nature.
